Horsham is a two-day event with the cross country event commencing at 8.30am on Saturday the 20th June 2009 for juniors and 11.am for seniors. Sundays Enduro Sprint event will commence at 8.30am on 21st June 2009 for juniors and seniors. The 2009 Horsham event will be open to any riders who have a national licence. Day licences are not permitted in a Victorian Championship event. Bikes may be registered or unregistered as the event is on private property.
Saturday's cross-country course will be conducted over 3 hours for seniors and 105 minutes for juniors. Lap times will be about 24 minutes for seniors and 18 minutes for juniors. The course is situated on grassy river flats on a free flowing, well bunted, arrowed and maintained throughout the event with plenty of passing opportunities. Any rider found outside the arrows or bunting will be penalized
Sundays enduro sprint will be conducted with Juniors Clubman and experts/Pro all running simultaneously on 3 courses made up of 5 minute extreme loop and 2 loops of 10 to 12 minute duration. Timing will be by transponders.
There will be catering all day Saturday and Sunday. The pit area is accessible by 2-wheel drive vehicle. There will be toilets and shower facilities provided.
Horsham is located 3.5 hours drive from Melbourne towards Adelaide on the Western highway, and is set to attract entrants from all states to compete at national cross-country level.
The event is at Quantong, which is 20 minutes from Horsham. Follow the sign post as you pass through Horsham, on the Western highway heading to Adelaide. Turn left at O'brees road just out of derestricted zone at Horsham. Follow VPMSC signs and arrows from Horsham towards Quantong.
Camping is now permitted at the track. Dogs and minibikes are not permitted at the property under any circumstances. (Except those bikes racing) There is a good list of local accommodation in Horsham.
