Round 6 & 7 20th & 21st June 2009

Horsham, Victoria Presented by V.P.M.S.C.

The Yamaha Victorian Off Road Championship travelling road show travels to Horsham in North Western Victoria this weekend for rounds 6 and 7 featuring the Cross Country on Saturday and Enduro Sprint on Sunday.

The organizing Club the Victoria Police Motor Sports Club, well known for hosting the Blue Light Ride and National Off Road Championships have opted to run this highly regarded must do event as part of the Victorian Off Road Championships.

The cross country to be run on Saturday runs the full format of the GNCC series as run in America with a full 3 hour long event. The course runs through grassy undulating river flats and recent heavy rain will make for an even more challenging course. Junior riders have the same opportunity riding for 2 hours over the course proceeding the senior event.

The following day Sunday will take the format of a 9 round enduro sprint course with the course divided up into 3 individual circuits. This is racing on an international level of course layout and set up and over 200 of Victoria's best off road riders have taken up the challenge. Timing and results via transponders are made instantaneous throughout the cross country and sprint events.

Main man behind the event and driving force Dave Robbins from Riders Edge and MXTV has produced a course layout that riders can be aggressive on and can attack with confidence with recent heavy rains ensuring the loamy course will be in prime condition.

We started marking the course in dry condition 2 months ago, but then the rains have continued and transformed the land into golf course like conditions, makes me want to come out of retirement and ride again , said Dave

Horsham is located 3.5 hours drive from Melbourne towards Adelaide on the Western highway The event has attracted entrants from all states to compete at national cross-country level.
